Nevada Revised Statutes 482.210.1(e)(1) and 482.398(3) provide that golf carts are exempt from registration by the department of motor vehicles and do not need a permit to operate on city streets or city right-of-way when the city designates the city street or city right-of-way as appropriate for the operation of golf carts, if the golf cart is equipped with an emblem or placard for slow moving vehicles; and operated solely upon that portion of highway designated by the city.
