§ 6.12.020. Brakes.

  • (a)

    Every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, when operated within the city shall be equipped with brakes adequate to control the movement of, and to stop and hold such vehicle, including means which shall be effective to apply the brakes to at least two wheels.

    (b)

    It is unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle within the city which shall not be capable at all times and under all conditions of loading, of being stopped on a dry, smooth, level street free from loose material, upon application of the service brake, of being decelerated at such a sustained rate as is specified by the statutes of the state.
