§ 6.06.795. Backing of vehicles.

  • (a)

    The driver of a vehicle:

    (1)

    Shall not back the vehicle unless such movement can be made with reasonable safety and without interfering with other traffic; and

    (2)

    Shall not back into an intersection, on or over a crosswalk, or around a street corner; and

    (3)

    Shall in every case yield the right- of-way to moving traffic and pedestrians.

    (b)

    Before backing, ample warning shall be given by blowing the horn of said vehicle, and while backing unceasing vigilance shall be exercised so as not to injure or damage those behind and in all events the approaching car shall have the right-of-way.
