§ 6.06.585. Vehicle turning left.

  • (a)

    The driver of a vehicle within an intersection intending to turn to the left shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard, but such driver, having so yielded and having given a signal when as required, may make such left turn and the drivers of all other vehicles approaching the intersection from the opposite direction shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle making the turn.

    (b)

    The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle or bicycle approaching from the opposite direction and which is so close as to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to such approaching vehicles until such time as the left turn can be made with reasonable safety.

    (c)

    A driver having so yielded and having given a signal when and as required by section 6.06.600 (method of giving a hand signal) may turn left and the drivers of all other vehicles approaching from said opposite direction shall yield the right-of-way.
