§ 5.11.005. Declaration of policy.

  • (a)

    It is found and declared that the public health, safety, morals and welfare of the inhabitants of the city require the regulation and control of all persons engaged in, associated with, in control of, or having the right to any portion of the profits of the business of gaming. All such persons, as defined in this chapter, shall be licensed and controlled so to protect the public health, safety, morals, good order and general welfare of the inhabitants of the city and to safeguard the public and to assist the gaming industry to foster stability and growth.

    (b)

    The right to obtain such a license is a privilege and that the operation of such a gaming facility, when authorized by such a license, is a privileged business subject to regulations, and that the license may be suspended, limited, or revoked for violation of the provisions of this chapter.

    (c)

    The gaming requirements of this chapter are intended to supplement the provisions of state law, particularly NRS Chapter 463, other chapters as applicable, and the Nevada Gaming Statutes and Regulations, as amended. The requirements of this Code shall not be construed to limit any requirements imposed under state law.
