Article II. RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION |
§ 2.08.080. Purpose.
The purposes of the recreation and parks commission include advising and making recommendations to the city council and director regarding:
(1)
promoting, aiding and encouraging public recreation, including the development of recreation and park facilities;
(2)
maintenance, development, finance and operation of all city-owned or operated recreation areas and facilities, and developing rules and regulations governing the use of those facilities;
(3)
time schedules for acquisition, lease, dedication or exchange of lands for recreation or park purposes, and the development of park and recreation facilities;
(4)
annual budgets for recreation and park facilities and programs;
(5)
use and availability of facilities, rates, tolls and charges for services;
(6)
advocating for the recreation program so that it may receive adequate support from public officials, citizens and private corporations;
(7)
such other powers and duties as may be delegated by the director and/or city council.
